1. Program Description
The Signetik Device Monitoring SMS program ("Program") is operated by Signetik, LLC. The Program sends automated SMS text messages to opted-in users regarding the operational status and fault conditions of IoT devices registered through the Signetik device setup process. This is a transactional/operational messaging program; it does not deliver marketing or promotional content.
2. Eligibility and Consent
To participate in the Program, you must:
- Be the owner or an authorized user of a Signetik-compatible IoT device
- Possess a valid U.S. mobile phone number capable of receiving SMS messages
- Initiate the opt-in process by entering your mobile number via the device serial terminal command +set,smsnum:[your number] and confirming consent via +set,smsapprove:1
By completing the opt-in process, you confirm that you are the account holder or have the account holder's authorization for the mobile number provided, and that you agree to these Terms & Conditions.
3. Message Content and Frequency
Messages sent through this Program will relate exclusively to:
- Device status updates and heartbeat confirmations
- Fault condition alerts and diagnostic information
- Service notifications directly related to your registered device
Message frequency: expect 1-4 messages per day under normal operating conditions, and up to 10 messages per day when fault conditions are detected. Message frequency may vary.
4. Costs
Signetik does not charge for SMS messages sent through this Program. However, standard message and data rates from your mobile carrier may apply. Contact your carrier for details about your plan's SMS rates.
Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of any purchase of Signetik products or services.
5. Opt-Out
You may cancel SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message received from this Program. After texting STOP, you will receive a single confirmation message and no further messages will be sent to that number unless you re-initiate the opt-in process. You may also opt out by initiating a new number setup on your device, which clears the previous approval, or by contacting Signetik support directly.

Signetik customer support is available during normal business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Time, excluding federal holidays.
7. Supported Carriers
The Program is compatible with major U.S. wireless carriers including but not limited to AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, Sprint, Boost Mobile, U.S. Cellular, and their MVNOs. Signetik is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages due to carrier network conditions.
8. Accuracy of Information
You agree to provide an accurate mobile phone number during the opt-in process. Signetik is not liable for messages sent to a number provided in error. If you change your mobile number, you must update your device registration accordingly.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE SMS SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND. SIGNETIK DOES NOT GUARANTEE THAT MESSAGES WILL BE DELIVERED IN A TIMELY MANNER OR FREE OF ERROR. SMS IS NOT A RELIABLE SUBSTITUTE FOR DIRECT DEVICE MONITORING OR REAL-TIME SAFETY SYSTEMS. DO NOT RELY SOLELY ON SMS NOTIFICATIONS FOR SAFETY-CRITICAL APPLICATIONS.
10. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SIGNETIK SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR RELIANCE ON THIS SMS PROGRAM, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DELAYED OR MISSED MESSAGES, CARRIER FAILURES, OR ERRORS IN DEVICE STATUS REPORTING.
11. Privacy
Your use of this Program is also governed by our SMS Messaging Privacy Policy, available at https://signetik.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/40328929090455-IoT-SMS-Message-Information. By participating in the Program, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Privacy Policy.
12. Modifications
Signetik reserves the right to modify or terminate this Program or these Terms & Conditions at any time. We will notify active subscribers of material changes via SMS. Continued receipt of messages following notification of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be resolved in the courts of Lancaster County, Nebraska.
